1992 - 1999: Advisory Board Member, University of Maryland/University College, tasked with developing graduate and undergraduate degree programs in Environmental Management. Co-developer of introductory course and courses in environmental auditing and environmental planning.

1991- 1999: Advisor to Oklahoma State Department of Health and numerous professional health care delivery associations regarding the management of biomedical wastes.

1990 - 1991: Co-Director: Risk Assessment Team conducting a series of risk assessment efforts for the United States Air Force related to potential groundwater contamination due to military facility landfill leachate release and industrial wastewater treatment discharge.

1988 - 1990: Research Quality Assurance Officer, under contract between East Central University, Ada, Oklahoma and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Laboratory. Directed nationwide program audits on groundwater research activities at 30 plus major universities and research institutions including Stanford, Cornell, University of North Carolina, Rice University, University of Florida, University of Texas, and Oregon State University.

1980 - 1988: Principal and Director of Analytical Services, Wastewater Systems Management, Inc. (WSMI), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Contract operations firm specializing in water, wastewater, solid and hazardous waste, and air quality management. Largest single facility contracted: North Canadian Wastewater Treatment Plant, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 80 Million Gallon per Day facility plus supporting pump stations and line work. Total staff assigned: 65 Project Position: Overall Manager for WSMI Contract.

1979 - 1988: Senior Environmental Analyst/Senior Environmental Planner, Fred Spitz and Associates, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Responsible for facility planning and environmental assessments related to planning, design, construction, and operation of USEPA construction grants wastewater and solid waste projects exceeding $160 million. Responsible for project management related to USDOD military facilities environmental assessments and planning at locations throughout the west and southwest United States.

1977 - 1979: Contract Environmental Systems Analyst, Don Jennings and Associates, Denver, Colorado. Conducted environmental health review and evaluations for tribal master planning activities of Native American tribes throughout the western United States.

1976 - 1979: Contract Systems Analyst, RAM Enterprises, Inc. Developed environmental sampling plan and conducted statistical analyses related to atmospheric dispersion modeling for government agency and USAF; Utah and Nevada.

TEACHING AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT:

Co-developed a new Master of Public Health curriculum in Bioterrorism Preparedness and a new Graduate Certificate program in Bioterrorism Preparedness.

Co-authored, -developed, and -implemented the highly successful Environmental Management & Industrial Hygiene multi-disciplinary Masters degree program.

Co-authored the Math and Chemistry Review Manual, a skills-enhancement reference manual used by all departmental students.

Developed and implemented successful strategies for re-opening departmental Doctoral program admissions.

Actively participated in the extensive restructuring of all Department of Occupational and Environmental Health academic programs.

Co-developed the department’s Quantitative Skills Examination component of the Comprehensive Final Examination.
